 Armando, I will miss you dear brother in law.  You always new how to talk to everyone with love, honesty and sincerity.  You always tried to help whenever we had a problem. I miss the way you called me arraiana, just to make me laugh.  l have a lifetime of wonderful memories from the family reunions and from the many visits and outings with you & Dorothy, especially when we were younger. You were a trailblazer.

When you initially arrived to Canada, you selflessly worked as hard as you could to pay the debts and improve the lives of your family in Portugal.

When you were able, you brought your family to Canada. And, in fact, many, many residents and descendants of the original families of S. Jorge da Beira have you to thank for their Canadian lives.

And when your family arrived to Canada, you helped them find work on the railroad and other industries. You strategically connected them into productive, unionized opportunities that offered the benefits of good, secure and well paid careers to support their families.

But you also demonstrated to us the power of love. For those who know the pressures to find and marry a Portuguese partner, you married a Canadian and showed us that love transcends boundaries.

You brought our families to Canada, you showed us love, and you literally united us with family reunions  among the first memories we have of the close bond of family.

Uncle Armando, you lived a marathon, brave, fit, smart. From Europa to Canada& Alaska. did you ever rest. you married raised your family, called on all us to come join in on the grand land of BC. you were of service everywhere, The Church, S Center, Work union, K O Columbus, picked litter on long daily walks, donated to hospitals, great veg. garden &eggs. had a Pool Table room done in you & Peters honour. this is big time winning! Dearest Uncle Armando, When I think of you, I think of a kind, loving, wise man.  You took care of your entire family and always made sure your parents and siblings were okay in this world.  I always felt your love and pride in us all.  You cherished all the times spent together with family, you celebrated our accomplishments, and you shared in our joys and also in our sorrows.  You gave advice whenever needed and were there for us all in our most difficult moments.  You stood up for the truth and for what was right and never backed down to pressure.  You and Aunt Dorothy have always been the pillars of our beautiful family.  I will miss your stories, your big smiles, your gentle personality, and your 'hearty' hugs.  There will always be a place in my heart for you, Uncle Armando. My Uncle A..you sure got around, super involved in Church, S Center, K O Columbus, litter picking on your long walks, donating to hospitals, growing goods to share, fresh eggs too. Your love, loyalty and pride in family was unwavering; your generosity unmatched.  You made sure your family was spared any hardships you had endured as they followed in your footsteps to Canada from back home.  You were a great mentor, always eager to teach and help.  I valued your advice, guidance and encouragement.  I loved our time together.
