

Carlee passed away peacefully at the Langley Hospice on December 21, 2019 after a long battle with Cancer at the age of 88 years. She leaves behind many friends and relatives. Shirley, Mary, Sherri and Ralph, Rachel (Marc), Rex (Barbara), and Steven. Friends, Reid (Kathy), Trevor and Debbie Towell (Don) and Families.
Carlee was born May 23, 1931 in Edmonton, Alberta. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her father died in 1960, her mother in 1982, and her brother in 1986. Carlee was educated in Grandin School and St. Mary’s High School in Edmonton and first year at U.B.C. She worked at B.C. Tel for seven years. Then at various jobs, including wrangler in the interior, driver for the Red Cross Blood Services and various short term clerical positions. She moved to Silverdale in Mission B.C. and began working for the government in Maple Ridge and also worked for the Haney Correctional Education Center. Then she worked at Pacific Vocational Institute; BCIT from 1957 to 1987 when she retired. In her retirement she spent a few years working for the BC horse council.
Horses were Carlee’s passion. She bred, raised and showed Morgan horses under the Honnalee prefix for 30 years, and later raised and showed Welsh ponies. In her later years she raised and showed Pomeranians dog under the Aprildew prefix with her friend Margaret Towell. In 1996 she moved to Coombs on Vancouver Island and enjoyed many wonderful years at her home on the Island before returning to Maple Ridge Seniors Village in Maple Ridge B.C.
Carlee’s request was to be cremated with no formal service. Her ashes will be placed in her mother’s grave in Matsqui B.C.
