Born in Dublin, Ireland, Charles was the son of Mary and Frances Donnery. He is survived by his siblings Frank, Theresa, Catherine, Robert, and William, and was predeceased by his brother Kevin.
Charles married the love of his life, Gwendoline Mary Donnery, and together they worked hard to build a life for their growing family. Through dedication, perseverance, and sacrifice, they founded Taurus Office and Store Interiors, a business built on those same values. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Gwendoline.
A man of deep faith, Charles was a devoted parishioner of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Langley. He took great pride in faithfully attending Mass and in building a strong heritage of faith for his family, which remained an important part of his life throughout the years. He will be deeply missed by his children Tabitha, Elaine, Karen, Stephen, Mark, and Brian; his 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; his sons- and daughters-in-law Zoe, Marcie, Shelley, and Amanda; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Charlie had a gift for bringing people together. He loved a full house, enjoyed hosting, sharing laughter, and spending meaningful time with family and friends.
A service will be held on March 26 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 20676 Fraser Highway, Langley, followed by a reception at Murrayville Pub (Manhattan’s), 22070 48A Avenue, Langley. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Charlie’s life.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff and volunteers at Langley Hospice Residence for their compassionate care and support.
