Cheryl Nadine Margaret Cripps

Cheryl was born into the Roman family: parents Margaret and Ed and her older sister, Lynne.

She loved her family and friends, was a devout member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, and enjoyed visiting with her niece. Despite her lifelong battle with mental illness, Cheryl was very resilient and independent. She wasn’t one to take no for an answer and was always determined to prove herself in the face of adversity. Artistic and creative, she always brought an energetic spark and spirited conversation to every room she entered. Cheryl loved reading, painting, crafting, and celebrating holidays (Easter was her favourite). She loved Elvis Presley listening to the song, “Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree.”

Cheryl is survived by her sister Lynne’s family: Niece (Amber), Nephew (Sam), and Brother-in-Law, Carl Turnau

Instead of flowers, memorial donations in Cheryl’s memory may be directed to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at Brookside Lodge Care Community and Langley Memorial Hospital for all of their compassion, and efforts to give Cheryl the best possible life she could have, despite her life circumstances.
