Edeltraut was born in East Prussia in 1931, living through World War II and developing her skills as a certified seamstress, which would be an enduring hobby for her throughout her life.
Edeltraut was predeceased by Werner Vorberg, her husband of 62 years. The pair met on the passenger ship Arosa Kulm, where they became engaged within three days of meeting. Beginning their life as a married couple in Toronto, Edeltraut and Werner immigrated to Vancouver in 1958.
Edeltraut and her husband enjoyed travelling, frequently visiting Hawaii and Japan, and later Alaska in their sunset years. Edeltraut was a keen toll painter, and – when not exploring her creative interests – could be found hosting parties for her many family and friends.
Edeltraut will be remembered for her good sense of humour, spectacular culinary skills, open-mindedness, and big heart. We hope she and Werner are now reunited, dancing together in the moonlight.
A Celebration of Life will be held privately during the summer.
Thank you to Henderson’s Funeral Home in Langley for assistance and guidance during this difficult time.
