With heavy hearts, we announce on March, 30th, Edward Alexander St. Godard passed away, peacefully in his sleep in the Langley Hospice, surrounded by his sons, after a wonderful, full life of 92 years. Edward is survived by his loving family: sons Rene, Roderique and Randall, daughters-in-law Margaret St. Godard and Leslie McEachern, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Edward was a decorated veteran of the Second World War, drove public buses for over 32 years and was an active member of the Delta Police Pipe Band for over 30 years. As an active, outdoors person he also enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends during his working life and throughout his retirement years.
He leaves behind a tremendous legacy of family and friends whom he touched with his kind spirit, old school values of humility, honour and respect and endless string of stories from 92 years of life experiences. To say he will be missed is a huge understatement.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, April 4th at Henderson’s Langley Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, 20786 Fraser Highway. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Langley Hospice Society www.langleyhospice.com or Critter Care Wildlife Society in Langley at (604) 530-2064.
