Born in Mannville, Alberta on July 4, 1931, he was the youngest son of seven children of Frederick Joseph Coad and Annie Louise Blomquist, of which his sister Dorothy is the only remaining sibling.
He faithfully served as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which he joined as a young man. He served a two year mission for the Church in South Africa, which is where he met his future wife, Isabel, while she was also serving a mission. Following their respective missions they met once more in Canada and began to date before marrying in Cardston, AB. They lived in Alberta until moving to their current home in Fort Langley in 1975.
He enjoyed being outside, working in his gardens, taking photos of his flowers and nature, and cooking. Spring was his favorite season as it allowed him to enjoy the outdoors he loved so much. He faithfully kept a daily journal since he was a young boy. A loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Isabel, his children, John, Louise, Darryl (Tracey), Arlene and Barbara, and his 3 granddaughters Natalie (Casey), Lauren, Amanda Rose, and great grandson Easton, and many other extended family members
