Hazel Louise MacFarlane

It is with great sadness that we make known the passing of our dear mother Hazel MacFarlane (nee Major). She was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Ida Major (nee Anderson), her siblings, Jackie Gregson and Robert Major, and her husband of 72 years, Gordon. She is survived by her three children, Ann Patterson, Kathy Bernard (Vic), and Michael MacFarlane (Kate). Gigi will be dearly missed by her seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Born in Trail, BC, Hazel moved to the Kootenays then to Victoria where she attended Oak Bay High School. She lived most of her adult life in the Vancouver area (Vancouver, West and North Vancouver, and Langley).

Hazel volunteered at the Cancer Lodge for over 30 years. She loved gardening, knitting, and helping Michael on the farm. She lived independently up until the end of her 98 years priding herself on walking nearly every day.

Hazel was the best Mum ever. She is loved by all who have known her. She will be deeply missed.
