JENNIFER TRACY BREWER
DOB JANUARY 14, 1977
Born in New Westminster, at Royal Columbian Hospital on January 14, 1977 to her proud parents Gary and Debbie. She grew up in Brookswood, Langley, B.C. and never really strayed too far away. She was very close to her parents and called or saw them every day.
Noel Booth was her elementary school and Brookswood was her secondary school.
She had one sibling, Doug who she was always so close to. As they grew up, being the older one, she thought she was always the boss and played that to the fullest extent. They always hung out together even as they got older. It was seldom that any time passed without her calling or dropping by to see her brother to see what was happening. There were a lot of good times and stories between the two of them. When Doug and Kate became a couple her and Kate were instant friends. In fact Jen taught Kate to drive (that was scary). She was so excited when her new nephew, Luka, was born in November 2011. She thought it was never going to happen as Doug had waited so long.
She has many friends from her school days. Sometimes she would bring a friend along on holidays and sometimes she would travel with a friend’s family. She truly loved them all.
The most important thing in Jen`s life was her family and friends. She would do anything to help anyone out. She was always looking to help the underdog or someone in need.
Activities during growing up:
She was a Smurf in bowling at Willowbrook Lanes at age 5 – 7.
Played ringette from 4 years old until she was 15. After retiring from her ringette playing she coached Tween for two years which is where she met her friend Alli, who was a player.
In the spring time she also played baseball for 9 years. Tried her hand at coaching baseball for one year but didn’t like it very much.
She tried snowboarding in her 20’s but was not very good at it as she broke her wrist the first time out.
During her younger years she loved to travel and really never grew out of that love. Her family travels as a youngster sent her to Hawaii a few times, two Caribbean Cruises, a couple of Disneyland trips and even a stop by Reno Nevada. As she got older her love for travel continued. She travelled to Mexico, Thailand, Jamaica, Cruises and Disneyland again. She was also introduced to camping locally which she thoroughly enjoyed.
As a teenager she worked for Safeway and Rona on a part time basis as a cashier.
In her early twenties she worked in a lawyer’s office in administration and for a while she worked as a teller for the Royal Bank. In her later twenties she worked as an administrator for a day care centre and for a software company. She was always very capable and good at what she took on.
In the fall of 2008 she decided she wanted to be a Medical Aesthetics technician. In January 2009 she went to Toronto for a month (school 7 days a week) to be trained and passed with honours – receiving her Certificates at the top of her class. With the busy day to day schedules of her life she never really had the opportunity to open and run the business as she had planned.
In 1998 she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Kaylee and in 1999 she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Dylan. She loved her children with all her heart and spent all the time she could with them. She would do anything for them. They called themselves the three musquateers because they always hung out together. Her personality allowed her to get down and be silly with her kids on almost any occasion. Cuddling on the couch, tickling them until they could take no more or a movie night which to Jen meant watching movies all night long or at least until they fell asleep one at a time. She didn`t know how to sit on the sidelines. If the kids were going down the waterslides, riding bikes (sometimes even when the bikes were too small for her), riding ATV`s, going on wild rides at Disneyland she was the first to jump up and get involved. She actually just blended in as being one of the kids and acted like them too.
Jen has three grandmas that have survived her. She loved them all. She was particularly close to Grandma Zem as they hung out a lot. Family events always got her fired up as she enjoyed being with her aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.
Her great sense of humour and contagious smile always opened the door when she entered a room. Whether you were a friend, family or a stranger (young or old) she could brighten your day. Everyone will remember how loud and boisterous she was on most occasions.
Her favorite pastime over the last year was dropping by for coffee with her Uncle David and friend Louis. They would hang out and talk for hours.
For many years she was a single mom trying to make the best life she could for her and her children. In 2008 she married David Friesen and lived in Port Moody adding Jesse and Cody as step sons.
