

Joe was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Laura Peterson and his brother Frank Peterson.
He is survived by his wife Linda, son Richard and daughter Teresa (Jason) Watkin and grandson Jordan Watkin.
His surviving sisters and brothers include Lil
(Doug), Joyce (Gene), Sharlene (Ken), Jean (Al), Andy (Velma), Doug (Wendy) and Phillip.
Also sister-in-law Betty Peterson. Numerous nephews and nieces remember enjoying his good company.
Joe's childhood home was in Salmon Arm B,C.. He completed his schooling there and started his working career in the area. As a young adult away from home he worked on the green chain in Donald, B.C.
In Golden he met, then married Linda in October 1973. Richard was born in 1974 and Teresa was born in 1976. In 1980 the family moved to Lillooet B.C. when Joe transferred with Evans Products .
Until 2002 Joe worked for several companies that made various finished wood products for local and overseas markets. He filled several different positions gaining valuable experience.
In 2003 Joe and Linda moved back to Surrey and he was owner/operator of a 5 ton truck delivering general merchandise to the Interior, the lower mainland and Vancouver Island.
Semi-retirement started in 2016 while living and working at a private air strip in the Fort Langley area.
When moving to Aldergrove in 2017 Joe became an assistant gardener at Tuscan lavender farm in Abbotsford, B.C and really enjoyed the atmosphere.
Full retirement happened in 2019 and living in Aldergrove B.C.
Joe enjoyed travelling far and wide with family and friends , driving different RV's. A trip to the Yukon in 2020 was a highlight for him. Fishing, golfing, curling, gardening and volunteering were enjoyable experiences. While living in Lillooet, Richard and Joe were involved with Scouts Canada as Beaver, Cub and Scout members. Joe's scouting name is Baloo. He coached youth baseball, worked on community projects several times. His last volunteering was at the Aldergrove Food Bank until co-vid forced him to stay home.
In June 2006 grandson Jordan was born and Joe was thrilled. The two of them recently started golfing together and Linda joined them for a game on July 8,2021. Joe attended several of Jordan's hockey and lacrosse games. Watching the lacrosse team win the provincial championship for their age group was very exciting.
Joe was very proud of Richard and Teresa in their youth and as adults. The feeling never waivered.
He was loved and will be truly missed.
A celebration of Joe's life will be on Sept. 25, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Located at the Salmon Arm Elk's Hall 3690 30 Street, NE , Salmon Arm, BC V1E 3L1
