

Lloyd G. “Pops” Dunn passed away peacefully in his 90th year of life on April 07, 2010 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on October 25, 1920 in Portage la Prairie to George Dunn and Arabella Dunn (Maxwell). After Lloyd completed his education in Portage la Prairie, he interrupted his job as a Jeweller to enlist and serve as a Bombardier in the Royal Canadian Artillery of the Canadian Armed Forces, from June 3, 1940 to October 23, 1945. After the Second World War he went to work as a Stationary Engineer for Hudson’s Bay Mining and Smelting Company in Flin Flon Manitoba. While in Flin Flon , Lloyd married his high school sweetheart Isabel Frances Dunn on September 14, 1949 and had their first and only child Graham Scott Dunn, born on September 1, 1955.
Lloyd is survived and lovingly remembered by his Daughter-in-law Penny Cartier, her husband Mark Cartier, two grandchildren Jason Dunn and Andrea (Martin) Courtney, as well as many relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Isabel Frances Dunn, son Graham Scott Dunn, father George Dunn, mother Arabella Dunn (nee Maxwell), brother Orval Dunn and Sisters Murielle Dunn (Parker), Gladys Dunn (Height).
A memorial service was held Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Henderson’s Langley Funeral Home, with Reverend Louise Cummings officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of choice.
