Luz Grey Verzosa, aged 86 years, passed peacefully surrounded by her five children on August 4, 2023. She continues to be a joy and inspiration to her loving children, Sophia (Tim), Isabel (Desirée), Aurora (Kathy), Raul (Julie) and Cristina (Paul). She is especially cherished in fond memory by her grandchildren Theo, Rosa, Stasha, Sera, Ana, Joanna, Madelene, and Raul Jr. Holding her in greatest affection is her sister Regina Grey and brother Roberto Grey, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Ruben.
In addition to family, Luz enjoyed many warm and lifelong friendships with members of the Filipino community and the Langley Teacher’s Association.
In addition to nurturing her family, Luz had a lifelong curiosity, open heartedness and zest for life that endeared her to all who knew her. After a long and satisfying teaching career, retirement saw her exploring the world through travel, and her interests through new skills like watercolour painting, Spanish language lessons, and playing the piano.
Our family extends heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the BC Ambulance Paramedics and all staff at the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) of the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC. Their diligence, expertise, and compassion allowed her peace and dignity in her final moments. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation, Cardiology. In accordance with her wishes, no funeral service will be held.
