WE are remembering our dear friend, Mark today.  Lots of wonderful memories of friendship and  good neighbours.  We miss you Mark.

Sylvia Paul and John, we wish to express our deepest condolences .Silvio and Dale 

Malcolm and I have known Mark and Sylvia since our youngest boys, Paul and Colin, were in play school together, some forty two years ago. 
Since that time, we have been close friends and have shared many fun times, both on holidays, at the Vancouver symphony, at dinners and in the company of mutual friends. For many years, Mark and Sylvia hosted New Years parties and we have so many memories of happy times with them. 
 Malcolm and Mark spent countless hours in the company of their friends, the train enthusiasts and watched hours and hours of train slides.
We have been very saddened by Mark’s ill health over the past few years which has had a profound impact on Sylvia and the family. 
We wish to pass on our condolences to Sylvia, John, Sean, Paul and Selina and wish to be remembered to all our mutual friends and acquaintances.
We love you Sylv.

My sister Janet and I have so many lovely memories over so many years spent with our Uncle Mark and Auntie Sylvia, John, and Paul on vacations and many holidays.  You all have been like a part of our family all of our lives and our children's lives too.  "Uncle Mark" will be deeply missed by all of us.  Sending our love to Auntie Sylvia, John (and Sian), Paul (and Selena) -- Hilary, Mark, Claire and Sarah Prentice, Janet & Neco Villella, Henry and Anna Thomas and of course Joan and Chris Starling.

Mark and Sylvia are our oldest friends.  We met in Bristol, England, almost 60 years ago, before Joan and I were married.  They came to Canada some years after we moved to the USA.  We have visited each other more times than we can count, travelled on road trips and cruises, and shared vacations and celebrations together.  Mark and I shared an interest in railways and often went train watching together. He was a good friend to us and our children and we will miss him for the rest of our lives. Goodbye, Mark. Chris and  Joan.

Very sad to hear of Mark’s passing.   I worked with Mark as his VP in one of his VSB schools.  He was a calm & supportive presence in the school; his mentorship appreciated.   
My condolences to Mark’s family.   He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Mark's illness and passing. He gave me great encouragement when I became an administrator within the VSB system. He was always happy and could see the bright side.

We were so sorry to hear of Marks passing.  Although we knew he was poorly, his death has still come as a shock to us.

It is so so hard to say goodbye to such a dear friend.  We shared such fun, and sadness, as a group of friends in Stockwood.  Then visits to Vancouver where we were always so welcomed.  I loved their visits to Bristol when they came to see family and friends most years, staying with me.  Such fun again and support in sadness.

My late husband, John Janzen, was a fellow principal with Mark in the Vancouver Elementary School system and over the years we as couples became very good friends.  Mark was a witty, charming gentleman at all times and will be sorely missed.  My love and sincere condolences to Sylvia and family.  JoAnne
