Mavis Elizabeth Bateson

Mother of Ian (Cheryl), Joanne (Ed), Fiona and Alayne (Darcy). Grandmother of Christine, Stephen, Tanya, Darren, Kevin, Caitlyn and Alex. Great-Grandmother of Taylor, Charlee, Reid, Aimee and Arwin.

Our Mum, was always seen wearing a scarf, loved her farms(s), especially her brood mares, foals, dogs, cats and squirrels. She enjoyed watching Dad umpire Polo, horse racing, her girls at horse shows and being Secretary of the B.C. Thoroughbred Association. She saw the extraordinary in her horses before anyone else could and always, told us to "get back on the horse". Mum never drove a vehicle other than a tractor. She was an avid reader, especially the Horse and Hound as well as everything about the Royal Family. Her expertise in crossword puzzles and trivial pursuit was remarkable. We will always remember your special smile, caring heart, being there for Dad and us, no matter what. We will always remember you Mum, because there will never be anyone to replace you in our hearts and the love we'll always have for you.
