Robin, unfortunately, had heart complications at a young age and required two open heart surgeries over the past 24 years and was recently diagnosed with lung disease. He always remained positive and strong through these difficult times and did well getting back to his regular routine as soon as he could.
He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in Port Alberni, where at the age of 18 he joined the reserves. He wore many hats over the years including roofing, logging, gravel, and truck driving, before he enlisted in the RCMP in 1975. He was fortunate to serve as an RCMP officer for 23 years, while living in many beautiful BC communities including Coquitlam, where he was a member of the Emergency Response Team.
He also worked in Vancouver, ‘E’ Division- Auto Theft Section, White Rock, Port Alice, Haida Gwaii, Bella Coola and Port Alberni. He was extremely proud of his profession and truly loved his job and the people he worked with. After his retirement from the RCMP, he pursued his passion for farming and community service, becoming a garlic farmer in Keremeos where he also served a term as Mayor. He remained busy by taking care of his hobby farm in 100 Mile House and later Port Alberni where he raised chickens and grew garlic before officially retiring to Langley in 2021, where he worked on restoring his 1967 Ford Mustang.
Beyond his professional achievements, he cultivated numerous memories and lifelong friendships throughout his adventures with his wife, Linda. He cherished spending time with loved ones, whether it was exploring the great outdoors, fishing, hunting, or sharing stories by the campfire or over a cup of coffee.
He is predeceased by his mother and father, brother Earl and sister Wendy. He was a beloved family member and is survived by and deeply missed by his loving wife of 54 years Linda, his children, Michelle (Bill), and Robin (Angie), his grandchildren Elizabeth, Alexandra, Abby, Matthew, Ty and Samantha who he lovingly referred to as his six pack and was so proud of them all. His brother Brian (Shaunalee), sister Kathleen, sister-in-law Karen, as well cousins, many nieces, nephews, and their children, all who brought immense joy to his life over the years. He will be terribly missed by his beloved German shepherd, Radar.
