Albert Thomas Yarrington

He graduated from Anoka High School, Anoka, Minnesota in 1990. He received a Bachelors in Psychology in 1994, and a Masters in Social Work in 1996, both from Michigan State University. However, after a brief stint practicing in the field of Social Work, he decided to pursue his true passion, which was computers and computer networking. He enjoyed working as an IT Administrator at Lear Corporation, and in his spare time, he often did computer repairs and upgrades for friends and family.

On November 30, 1996, Al married Jennifer Susan Rivard in Stephenson, Michigan. Al was a loyal husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was a devout Christian; he prayed every single day and he regularly asked his children how he could pray for them and their friends. He kept a lighthearted approach to most of his life. Even after multiple strokes, he could still make everyone laugh. And of course, he was a big fan of Dad jokes! Al greatly enjoyed family game night, sci-fi movies and TV, Mountain Dew and Haribo gummi bears. Al was cherished by his family and we will miss his love, loyalty and laughter.

Al is survived by Jen, his wife of almost 28 years; children, Hope (25), Faith (21), and Evan (19); mother, Rita Yarrington; siblings, Russell Jones and Julia Yarrington. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Yarrington, and his daughter, Joy Yarrington.

A visitation for Albert will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Gorsline Runciman Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. The Funeral Mass will occur Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church, 102 W Randolph St., Lansing, MI 48906 with the family receiving friends 1 hour prior to Mass. A private family inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
