Ann Marie "Carol Ann" Gordon

Lansing

Age 68, on Thursday, March 1, 2012, we lost a

family treasure as she went to be with the Lord. She

went peacefully with her family at her side.

Born on August 28, 1943 in Lansing to Frank L. and

Clara (Tomeck) Fatura. She graduated from Resurrection High

School, and was a member of IHM Church. Her strong faith and

dedication to the Catholic Church was expressed daily in her

devotion and love for her family. She loved to bake, and was

renowned for her chocolate chip cookies that could rival Mrs.

Field’s. She enjoyed the family adventures to the casino where

Ann always seemed to have lady luck on her side. Also an avid

Tiger Fan, she passionately anticipated the arrival of spring and

those famous words “Play Ball”. She had a great appreciation of

music, and being Czech she especially loved the Polka.

Ann’s eyes sparkled and her face would light up whenever she

talked about her grandchildren and great-grandchild. These

children were her true blessing, and the apples of her eye. She

greatly cherished the time spent with each.

She is survived by her loving spouse, Jerry Vanblaricum;

daughter, Tammy (Dale) Hosford; son, Terry (Debbie) Gordon Jr.;

3 grandchildren, Terry (Tara) Gordon III, Tessa and Tait Hosford;

Great-granddaughter, Dakota Gordon; mother, Clara Fatura;

brother, Jerry Fatura; 2 sisters, Sharon (Dennis) Richardson and

Diana (Brian) Harper; several nieces and nephews; and close

friend, Sue Berger. Ann was preceded in death by her father,

Frank.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m.Thursday, March 8, 2012,

at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3815

S. Cedar, Lansing, with Fr. John Byers as celebrant. Rite of Burial

will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will

receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm. at the Gorsline

Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, where

the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm.
