Arleen Louise Perry

Arleen Louise (Smiley) Perry, 89, of East Lansing, Michigan, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015, in her home. She was born in Aurelius, Michigan, November 7, 1925, to Elmer and Mary Smiley. Arleen is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her children Kristine (William) Newton; Steven (Alicia) Perry and Kathryn (Rodney) Nemeth; sister Donna Luttrell; grandchildren Michelle, Joshua, Matthew, Ryan, Kimberly, Brooke, Steven and 7 great grand children. Arleen and Richard were married November 8, 1946 and spent 68 wonderful years together. She was a member of the Women's Home League of the Salvation Army. She enjoyed traveling, decorating cakes, knitting, jigsaw puzzles, reading and playing cards. Her biggest enjoyment was spending time with her family. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 16, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Gunnisonville Cemetery, Lansing, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army, 525 N. Pennsylvania, Lansing, MI 48910 and Great Lakes Hospice Foundation, 900 Cooper St., Jackson, MI 49201. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 11:00 a.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI 48912.
