

ARNOLD ROBERT KUTHY (93) died peacefully on April 24, 2025 in Lansing, Michigan in the Memory Care Unit having lived with Alzheimer’s disease for over 10 years. He was born in Detroit to Wendell and Elizabeth Kuthy. Arn was married for 64 years to the love of his life, Helen (Smith) Kuthy. Arn graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in Business Administration and went on to become a dynamic businessman who turned around several struggling companies in his positions as President, Chief Operating Officer and later as a consultant after retiring in 1995.
Arn and Helen built their retirement home in Keowee Key in Salem, SC and formed strong bonds within his faith community of St.Paul’s Church. Arn was deeply committed to the Knights of Columbus as a 4th Degree Knight. He enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow Knights and their families and formed many abiding friendships. One of the highlights of his time with the Knights was being involved in the Knights’ annual golf outing to benefit Special Olympics. Arn also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer's Association.
Arnold was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen and brother Eugene Kuthy. He is survived by his three children: Michael (Mary) Kuthy, Virginia Beurkens, and William (Sandee) Kuthy; six grandchildren: Natalie, Keven, Tyler, Jess, Aimee and Emalee, and four great grandchildren: Atarah, Everly, Zyre and Isla. He was absolutely adored by the great grandchildren and the feeling was mutual. He is also survived by many lifelong friends and distant family members, as he was a beloved member of the community and loved by all he met.
Arnold would be honored if donations could be made to the Alzheimer's Association in his memory.
