Our beloved Awatef Ayoub Chahine was welcomed by the lord on November 11, 2015. She was born on May 15, 1929. Awatef was a devoted, spiritual mother who loved being surrounded by family and friends. Awatef was born in Al Bassa, Palestine, and she immigrated to the United States of America in 1987. Awatef enjoyed spending time in the kitchen as well as taking care of her garden.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Mikhael. She is survived by her 6 children: Edward (Nariman), Samir (Jaquline), Faten, Joseph (Michelle), Rudolph (Maria), Ossama (Traci) and 8 grandchildren: Mayk (Jessica), Mona, Casey, Elie, Summer, Wissam, Mitchel, and Heather.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-5 P.M. and Monday from 2-4, 6-8 P.M. with the Trisagion at 7:00 P.M. Monday at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Tuesday, November 17, 2015, viewing will begin 9:00 A.M. at Tiffanys until the procession at 10:30 to St. Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 725 W. Mt. Hope, Lansing for an 11:00 A.M. Funeral service with Fr. James Graham presiding. Rite of committal will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
