

of Lansing, MichiganAge 87. Died December 22, 2006. Born October 18, 1919 in Cadillac, Michigan. Bertha grew up in Cadillac, graduating from high school in 1938. In 1941 Bertha married Kenneth D. Himebaugh, beginning a long loving union producing four children; Louise, Daniel, Ray and Linda. During World War II, Bertha like many other women across the nation worked for the war effort as a ?Rosie the Riveter? building airplanes. Bertha was very family oriented, always looking to entertain children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bertha and Ken were original members of the Capitol City Old Car Club. Bertha loved knitting, sewing, playing golf and bowling. Bertha?s other love was gardening. Bertha was preceded in death by her mother and father Bertha and George Kohler and her brothers Jimmy Kohler and George Kohler, Jr., her husband Kenneth D. Himebaugh, sons Ray Himebaugh and Daniel Himebaugh. Bertha is survived by her daughters Louise J. Orr and Linda Himebaugh of Lansing and daughter-in-law Barbara Himebaugh of Goebels, grandchildren Glenn Ross of Lansing, Scott Ross of Grand Rapids, Jane (Don) Haga of Charlotte, Suzanne (Paul) Stanton of Hudsonville, Neill (Lisa) Ross of Byron Center and Matthew (Michelle) Himebaugh of Mason, and nine great-grandchildren. The family extends special thanks to Burcham Hills Retirement Community and the Hospice of Lansing for their dedicated and compassionate care. Services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, with Rev. H. Randolph Morgan officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Burr Oak Cemetery, St. Joseph County. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Lansing, 6035 Executive Drive, Suite 103, Lansing, MI 48911 or the Alzheimer?s Association, 107 Aprill Drive, Suite 1, Ann Arbor, MI 48103 in memory of Bertha.
