Beverly Jean Underwood-Sanches

Beverly Jean (Rowley) Underwood-Sanches peacefully took the hand of our Lord Jesus on November 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and her dear friend. Beverly was born in Lansing, Michigan on October 14, 1933, to Helen (Mallek) and Harold Rowley, and she spent most of her life in Lansing.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Benito Sanches. She is survived by her four children: Karen (Jim) Peaney, Ellen (Nathan) Maher, Tom (Penny) Underwood, and Tim (Jeanne Ann) Underwood. Beverly’s grandchildren include Cori, Brandon (Arturo), Lance, Elise (Chris), Hannah (Lucas), Adam, and Nicolas. She is also remembered by her great-grandchildren: Layla, Ava, Elias, Carson, Esther, and Caiden.

Beverly is also survived by her dear friend Irene Mutty, stepdaughter Merry (Dave) Oswill, and stepson Jeff Sanches, along with their children and grandchildren.

Beverly enjoyed reading, taking car rides, and listening to the birds as she sat on her patio. In her earlier years, she found joy in growing orchids and volunteering at her parish, St. Gerard. Above all, Beverly cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was deeply loved as a mother, grandmother, and friend, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family extends a special thank you to Fairview Adult Foster Care in Grand Ledge, Michigan, where Beverly received loving and comfortable care for over seven months. The caregivers are truly angels here on earth.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard Catholic Church on Saturday, December 6th at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held in the gathering space of the church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
