Boni Lou (Delp) Ayers, age 76, was born October 19, 1948, to Edward and Dorothy (Bucks) Delp, and passed away on October 25, 2024. She was a life-long resident of Lansing, Michigan, graduating from Waverly High School (class of 1966) and Michigan State University. Boni was employed by the Waverly school district as a physical education teacher, was a life-long MSU sports fan and enjoyed sewing and needle work.
Boni married her high-school sweetheart, Steven Ayers, on August 1, 1970, and he survives her. Also surviving are brothers, Ron (Susan) Delp of Lansing, MI and Jim Delp of Lakeland, FL; nephews, Steven (Gina) Delp and Kevin (Emily) Delp with their families, sister-in-law, Susan Ayers, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Duane and Carol Ayers; sister-in-law, Cheryl Jenkins; and brothers-in-law, Lee Ayers and James Ayers.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 31 at 12 pm, at the Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, with visitation one hour prior. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Sparrow Hospice for their care during Boni's final days.
