Together they formed a family. In 1965, Brianna left Cuba with her two children for the United States and within a few years reunited with her husband and stepson, Alberto R. Martin, in Lansing, Michigan.
Brianna was the eternal student of learning and life. She loved to read about every possible subject matter, especially art, music, entertainment, literature and science. She completed her master's degree in education at Michigan State University and later completed an associate degree through Lansing Community College in Hotel and Restaurant Management. In her later years, Brianna took singing lessons and wrote music lyrics for enjoyment.
She leaves behind her children, Carl A. Martin of Haslett and Cristina (Steve) Stanley of Williamston. Her stepson Alberto (Maria) Martin of Lansing. She has two grandchildren Jessica (Reggie) Shuck of Williamston and Tristan A. Martin of Williamston and three step-grandchildren, Maria (Gerry) Bowman of Chicago, Alberto B. Martin of Lansing and Nick (Rebecca) Stanley of Pennsylvania. Her great grandson, Gabriel Shuck, who she lovingly nicknamed "Mosito" and two step-granddaughters, Verbena Stanley and Camilla Bowman.
