She attended Lincoln Elementary, then Drager Middle Schools, and Springbrook Junior High in Adrian, Michigan before moving back to Eaton Rapids, Michigan, where she graduated, with honors.
She dreamed of being a model and enjoyed photography, music and art. She loved animals, especially cats. She married & divorced. She traveled broadly and enjoyed the Pacific Northwest especially, where she worked for the USPS. She was compassionate toward those less fortunate than herself, always looking for ways to help others.
She loved big & lived large. She was so very loved, cherished and admired by so many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing to all.
She is survived by her only child, Kevin Maxwell Pratt of Eaton Rapids, Michigan; her mother, Mrs. Alexandra Hammersley-Murray & stepfather Don, of Adrian, Michigan; several cousins, aunts & uncles from across the US; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, CPO David Walker Hammersley, USN ret., of Dyersburg, TN and Mrs. Judith Ann McCauley-Walton of Dale, IN.
She was the great-granddaughter of Pearl Snead Hammersley of Lynchburg, VA; Mrs. Mary Alexandria McManus-Hammersley of Cherry Hill, NJ; and Mr. & Mrs. William Rockwell [Anna] Knight, of Attleboro, MA.
Brianna chose to be a Gift of Life donor, we hope her medical contribution helps many people. Brianna wished to be cremated, her ashes taken to Mt. Rainier in Washington state.
Now, she is free, from all that restrained her in this life, as she enters the afterlife. She lives among the stars in the night sky, returning to the source. She now belongs to the ages.
There will be no public service. We encourage each of her "families" to memorialize her according to their own beliefs. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make charitable donations in her name to your local women’s shelter and/or community mental health organizations for suicide prevention.
Memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.grlansing.com for Brianna’s family.
