Born February 12, 1922, died January 20, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia of 68 years; his children, Marianne (Gary) Batterbee, David, Adrian (Mary), Timothy (Lori), Jerome, Ron (Chauntelle), Janette (Bryan) Purves; 19 grandchildren, Tom (Shawne), Carrie (Harold), Gabe, Michael (Jeanne), Elizabeth (Brandon), Maggie (Matt), Andrew (Erin), Justin (Allison), Jake, Sam, Carly, and Megan and 11 great grandchildren, Tyler, Devin, Amelia, Griffin, Cooper, Wyatt, Brandon, Alexandra, Mason, Zoey, and Abigail; and his brother, Robert Fox also of Lansing. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and daughter-in-law, Barbara.
"Big" was very proud to serve his country in the Navy from 1944-1946 and was able to participate in the Honors Flight in 2014. He was employed for 44 years at Industrial Metal Products Corp. as a machine builder and designer. He had a love for golfing with his children, designing and flying remote controlled model air planes and enjoyed his affiliation with C.A.R.D.S. He was also pleased to share his love for trains with his grandchildren.
Visitation is today, Thursday, from 2-4, 6-8 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Vigil Thursday in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Liturgy is 1:30 P.M. Friday, January 23, at St. Gerard Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Fr. John P. Klein and Fr. Paul Erickson presiding. Viewing will be from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. Friday at church. Rite of committal will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Gerard's St. Vincent De Paul Society in memory of Carl.
