It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Chris E. Bowen, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who peacefully left us on February 8, 2025 after a courageous battle with his illness.
Chris was born with a compassionate heart and a deep commitment to his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Debbie Bowen (Emmons); his daughter, Stacey Bowen; his son and daughter-in-law, Cameron and Janelle Bowen; and his cherished grandsons, Ethan, Evan, and Eli Bowen. He is also survived by his brothers, Bruce Bowen (Suzanne) and Ron Bowen (Genene), and his sister, Cathy Labun (Mike). In addition, his memory lives on through numerous in-laws, dear cousins, and extended family.
Chris’s greatest love was his wife, Debbie. He treasured their time together, whether working on projects, enjoying quiet moments, or creating memories at their beloved cottage. Their love was a true partnership, built on laughter, shared dreams, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys.
He found his greatest joy in spending time with family, sharing stories, and telling jokes that filled every room with laughter. His warmth and humor created treasured memories that will be held in the hearts of those who loved him. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with his grandsons—watching them play soccer, cheering them on in their performances, fishing together, or simply enjoying each other’s company. These moments brought him immense happiness, always accompanied by his quick wit, playful spirit, and boundless love.
Chris dedicated 47 years of his life to retail. Many of those years were spent working for Kmart and Toys “R” Us in various managerial roles, including Manager, District Manager, and Regional Manager. Throughout his career, he was known for his professionalism, leadership, and unwavering support for those around him. His work ethic and dedication to his family were matched only by his kindness and care for others.
An avid golfer, Chris found joy on the green, where his love for the sport reflected his enthusiasm for life and his ability to embrace each moment. Chris will be remembered as a kind, supportive, and genuine friend, always ready with a helping hand, a warm conversation, or a well-timed joke. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of being a part of his life.
