Curt W. Maki went home to be with his Savior on December 9, 2011. He was born on December 22, 1936 in Ashland, WI to the late Walter E. and Ellen A. Maki. He graduated from Luther L. Wright High School, Ironwood, MI with the class of 1954. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1954 to 1957, with over two years in France. After being discharged he attended Michigan State University, graduating with a BA degree in Accounting in 1962. Following graduation he was employed by Sears before working as an accountant for Oldsmobile division of General Motors. From 1969 - 1987 he was Business Manager for the Okemos School District. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Marilyn; his son, Curt W. Maki Jr.; and grandsons, Marek, Dylan and Jarod all of Normal, IL; his daughter Kirsten (Chris) Hafke; and grandchildren, Kaileigh, Kamden and Christopher all of Caledonia, MI; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Bruce on Easter Sunday 2010. Curt was a devout Christian and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lansing, MI. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 7910 E. St. Joseph Hwy, Lansing, MI with visitation one hour prior at the church. Per his request cremation has taken place. Donations may be made in his memory to Our Savior Lutheran Church or the Lansing City Rescue Mission, 607 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912.
