Dawn Crigger

Dawn was born to Shirley Snellenberger in Detroit, Michigan, 1967. She was a wild child and loved fighting with her siblings, much to her mothers’ dismay. She had 2 children, Jeremiah (34) and Marlena (33).

Dawn’s first and biggest love was working on cars and would often volunteer herself to help others on their vehicles. She never went to school to learn but she picked up things by watching others and trying them herself. There wasn’t much on a vehicle that she couldn’t fix. Her favorite models were the 70-80’s Oldsmobile Cutlass and Chevy Monte Carlo. She even raced in amateur Demolition Derby’s and Scrambles, earning her respect among the men and quite a few cuts, bruises and even a few cracked bones. Her race car number was always how old her daughter was at the time of the race. Dawn also loved working outside, building things, bailing hay, painting and drywalling. She was a wiz at puzzles and coloring, often found laying on her stomach on the floor, with her tongue peeking out of her mouth as she tried to concentrate.

Dawn had a very playful nature and was always looking for the next joke or laugh. From shocking bathroom photos, adult themed birthday cakes to the old “Pull my finger” gag, Dawn was always ready to laugh and to be laughed at. A smile was always found on her lips and you always knew when she was up to something because she was a horrible liar and giggled non stop when she did something.

While Dawn might be gone, she is always here in our hearts and our memories. If you ever feel lonely, take a moment to take a deep breath, look at the clouds or the stars and know she is keeping watch on all of us, happy and free with her mother and siblings, cursing us for not fixing the car the way she would.

Dawn is preceded in death by her mother (Shirley D. Snellenberger), brother (Stanley Earl Browning) and her sister (Martha Christine Davenport). Dawn is survived by her brother (Wayne Douglas Crigger) and his wife (Teresa), her nephews (Tyler Crigger, Kenny Purple), daughter (Marlena J Crigger) and her nieces (Tabby and Chelsea).
