Donald L. Shauver

Age 72, died April 26, 2013; born May 28, 1940 to Clifford and Irene (Hilliker) Shauver. Donald was a 1958 graduate of Eastern High School, and a member of their championship wrestling team from 1956 to 1957. He was a great storyteller and loved to share stories; he also enjoyed fishing. He was an avid bowler and sports fan. He loved his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clifford Dale, Dennis Ray; and sister, Loretta Helen Hernly. Donald is survived by his son, Brian (Lisa) Shauver; 3 grandchildren, Emma, Hannah and Travis Shauver; brothers, Charles Shauver, Duane (Mary) Shauver; sister, Becky Shauver; sister-in-law, Annette Shauver; brother-in-law, Thomas Hernly; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan, Lansing, MI with Pastor John Eich officiating. Interment will follow at Deepdale Memorial Gardens, Lansing, MI. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, Memorial and Honor Program, P.O. Box 13067, Alexandria, VA 22312.
