

Edna June Letzau (Akins), 87, of Westfield, Indiana, formerly of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on September 14, 2025. Born in Lansing on June 16, 1938, she spent most of her life in this community before moving to Indiana three years ago to be near her beloved daughter.
Edna graduated from Lansing Eastern High School and dedicated over 30 years to Michigan State University as the Administrative Assistant to the Council of College Presidents. After retiring, she continued to give back as a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and as secretary for her high school reunion committee. Edna also cherished her time spent playing cards and games with her dear friends on a regular basis.
Edna was married to Ralph Julius Letzau on December 11, 1971, sharing a beautiful 42 years together until his passing in 2013. She is survived by her son, Gregg Worden (fiancee Beth Lounds); her daughter, Kimberly Worden (partner Diane Miller); and her cherished grandchildren: Dana Sprague (husband Benjamin), Cody Worden (wife Liz), Blake Worden, and Samantha Worden. Edna was also a proud great-grandmother to Sadie and Graham Sprague, as well as Kinsley and Brady Worden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; and her sisters, JoAnn Lange and Martha Schellhammer. Edna is lovingly remembered by her nieces, Janice Gavinski and Karen Parks; and her nephews, Jerry Schellhammer and Steve Schellhammer.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Home, located at 900 E Michigan St., Lansing, MI. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan, Capital Area United Way Humane Society, or the Church of the Resurrection of Lansing.
Edna will be remembered for her positive spirit, quick wit, and captivating smile that lit up every room. Her legacy of kindness and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
