

Ed was born in Lansing on October 16, 1952, to Arthur and Dorena Castellani, the second of four children. A lifelong Lansing resident, Ed had great pride in his hometown and always said that everything he loved and needed was in Lansing.
Ed attended O’Rafferty High School and was in their final graduating class of 1970. Ed attended the University of Michigan and was an avid supporter of all University of Michigan and Detroit sports teams.
Ed became a Certified Public Accountant upon graduating from UM business school and worked for Ernst and Young in Troy, Michigan. Ed then earned his Juris Doctor Law Degree from Detroit College of Law in 1979. Ed practiced law for many years in the Lansing area, specializing in business, corporate, and tax law, most recently with the Fraser Trebilcock law firm, where he worked until his retirement in February of 2024. Ed was well respected in his field for his integrity and dedication to his clients. Upon his retirement, Ed enjoyed playing golf with friends, playing his guitar, and spending time with his family.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Castellani, in 2015. He is survived by his wife, Robin Castellani of 37 years; his sons, Michael Castellani and Christopher Castellani; his mother, Dorena Castellani; siblings William Castellani, Dr. Mark Castellani (Lisa Hildorf), Jeannie (Bill) Mothersell; eleven nieces and nephews, and countless cousins.
Ed had a deep appreciation and love for his Italian heritage, and he visited Italy several times throughout his life. As recently as October of 2024, Ed traveled to Italy with various family members, a trip he enjoyed very much.
Ed will be remembered by his family as a devoted father and provider for his wife and sons. Together as a family, they shared wonderful memories, especially of annual vacations to St. Pete Beach, Chicago, and northern Michigan.
Ed will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The visitation for Ed will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 3 pm to 6 pm at Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, Michigan.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 1:30 pm at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow Hwy. Lansing, MI 48917. The family will gather to greet friends beginning at 12:30.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial donations to St. Gerard Parish or the UM Health-Sparrow Foundation for the compassionate care Ed received at the hospital. Gifts can be made online by visiting: UofMHealthSparrow.org/Give.
