Ellen Louise Bodo

Ellen L. Bodo (Pitchford) passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, October 10th, 2025, at the age of 92 in Lansing, Michigan. Her life was defined by love for her family, her strong work ethic, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made each day meaningful. Born in Michigan, Ellen built a life grounded in dedication and resilience. She worked for many years at Oldsmobile, contributing to one of Michigan’s most iconic industries. Her commitment to her work reflected her dependable nature and pride in being part of something bigger than herself.

On August 23rd, 195, Ellen married her soulmate, Joseph Bodo Sr., in Wacousta, Clinton Township, Michigan. Together, they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage-a love rooted in loyalty, laughter, and shared dreams. Joseph preceded her in death, and not a day passed that she didn’t carry his memory in her heart.

In retirement Ellen found peace and happiness living on Morrison Lake in Saranac, Michigan. She loved playing golf, not just for the game but for the time it gave her with her friends. She loved the long walks around the golf course, and she loved to greet every passerby. Her easy smile and gentle presence made her a true joy to be around, whether at home or anywhere she went. The echoes of “on the other hand” will be forever imprinted in our hearts to always see things from a different perspective.

Ellen's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her beloved children and their spouses, Joe (Laurie) Bodo, Cindy (Jim) King, and John (Nancy) Bodo. She was a very proud and loving grandmother to Jayson (Allie) Bodo, Emily (Dan) Bodo, Bethanie Kruger, Stephanie (Ben) Ackley, Steven (Shannon) King, and Jon Bodo - Each of whom she cherished deeply. Her love and wisdom live on in her seven great-grandchildren, who brought light and laughter to her later years.

A Graveside service will take place at Deepdale Memorial Gardens, 4108 Old Lansing Rd, Lansing, MI 48917, on Monday, October 20,2025 at 12:00 pm. A luncheon to follow at Falsetta's Casa Nova at 138 S. Waverly Rd., Lansing, MI 48917.
