Evelyn L. Bennett LSJ Photo Mecosta/Sun City Center Evelyn was received into the arms of Jesus her Savior on April 21, 2012 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Otto ?Ike? Bennett, parents: Ernie & Mabel Ball, siblings: Dorothy Franklin, Norman Ball, Jackie Hiatt and Carol Jean Ball. She is survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews (3 generations), cousins and a host of long-time friends. After graduating from Okemos High School, she began her career at Michigan Bell Telephone until retirement. She loved her work, and was eventually promoted to management but always said her favorite job was as an operator. Words that exemplify her life would be her smile, her hug, hospitality, Christmas Eve gatherings, blue jeans, classy cars, thrift stores, cinnamon rolls and homemade macaroni and cheese. She loved having family and friends around. Her ?children? were an abundance of nieces, nephews and countless others she took under her wings along life?s path. She was affectionately known as ?Red? to her husband and ?Aunt Evelyn? to many, even those unrelated. The title ?Red Cottage? or ?Up North? will always speak of precious summer memories that she helped build. Join us in celebrating her life on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Visitation will be from 6:00 ? 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and one-hour prior to service. Friends may sign the online guestbook at www.tiffanyfuneralhome.com.
