Age 83, passed away on April 24, 2018. She was born in Lansing, MI, to Clarkson C. and Helen F. Helmer. Ms. Helmer attended Eastern High School. She retired from Bell/AT&T after 36 years of service and was a life-long member of the AT&T Pioneers. She was a member of Calvary UMC which merged with Mt. Hope UMC. Ms. Helmer was a very active member in the UMW Mary Ruth Circle, where she served as a treasurer.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Helmer Summers of Virginia Beach, VA; sister-in-law, Cynthia Helmer of Waldorf, MD, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, 3 cousins and their families. Many thanks to her special friend, Barb Haynes, for keeping in touch with Evelyn with weekly calls and cards from the circle for 7+ years.
