Florence A.

of DeWitt, MichiganAge 92, passed away December 2, 2007 in DeWitt, Michigan. Florence was born October 28, 1915 to Earl and Elna Wood near Olivet, Michigan. She attended a one-room rural school house through the 8th grade, then graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1933 and Lansing Business University in 1937. She was married to Wayne W. Clark on January 1, 1938 and they lived in Lansing until retiring to their lake home in Gladwin County in 1973. Mrs. Clark retired from the Michigan Department of Education. She enjoyed homemaking, reading, travel, watercolor painting, and camping with their children and grandchildren. For more than 20 years after retirement, she was an officer and active volunteer in the Gladwin County Historical Society. In 1997 she moved to DeWitt to be nearer her family. Her husband preceded her in death on January 18, 1986. She is a member of Redeemer United Methodist Church in DeWitt.

Surviving are her two daughters, Nancy (Jack) West of Holland, Susan (Henry) Wieferich of DeWitt; grandchildren, Timothy West of Grand Rapids, Ellen (Tom) Jenkins of Goshen, Kentucky, Eric (Tricia) Wieferich of DeWitt, Shelly (Lee) Gullett of Grandville, Bradley (Michelle) Wieferich of DeWitt; great-grandchildren, Ben and Emily Jenkins, Erin, Ryan, Jenna, Nicklaus, Jacob, and Luke Wieferich, Allison, Joseph and Robert Gullett; sister, Jean Bolinger of Marshall, sister-in-law, Peg Wood of Alabama; brother, David Johnston of Kalamazoo; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2-4, 6-8PM Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw Hwy, Lansing 48917. The Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Redeemer United Methodist Church, 13980 Schavey Road, DeWitt 48820 with the Pastor Rodney Kalajainen, officiating and viewing 1 hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be Deepdale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Flat River Public Library in Greenville, Michigan or IN-HOUSE Hospice Solutions, 24293 Telegraph Road, Ste 102, Southfield, MI 48034 in memory of Florence.
