After bravely and defiantly battling cancer, Floyd succumbed to his illness on Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Haslett, Michigan. Floyd was born on November 17, 1947, in Watseka, Illinois; he was 76 years old at the time of his passing. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife of fifty-one years, Jacquelynn Fisher, his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Michelle Fisher, daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Anthony Zuk, son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Amy Fisher, and daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Justin Beresky. He is also survived by his many grandchildren, Stacey Malinoski (Steve), Trevor and Gannon Fisher, Garret (Rachel), Ethan and Brendan Zuk, Austin and Caleb Fisher, Julian Beresky, and Kaytlin Garrow, and two great grandchildren, Raylin Malinoski and Everett Fisher. Floyd will be deeply missed by many, but especially by his wife and children. His children made him proud by becoming the strong, independent, and hard-working individuals he raised them to be.
Floyd was a test driver for General Motors for 33 years before retiring and operating his own pressure washing business for several years. He loved horses, golfing, Cribbage, Euchre, and Nascar. Floyd could stack a deck better than anyone but would never admit it! He could also count points in Cribbage faster than humanly possible, and he was always right! After selling the 14-acre family home in 2021, Floyd and Jacquelynn moved into a golf course community where he spent his final days watching a landscaping crew maintaining his lawn and watching golfers’ putt into the eighth hole. Everyone who knew and loved Floyd can appreciate how much he enjoyed watching others work! He was always the great supervisor no one knew they needed!
A private graveside service will be held on June 29, 2024, followed by a public Celebration of Life on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. The Celebration is being held at the VFW at 12250 Old U.S. 27, DeWitt, Michigan 48820.
