Frank Douglas Thrush, 66 of Lansing, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 after a many years battle with Alzheimer’s. Known to many as “Frank T” the impact this amazing man had on so many people’s lives will be forever remembered. A loving father, brother, son, grandfather, Frank dedicated his life to helping those struggling with substance abuse. He easily inspired those he helped through his 48 years of sobriety and dedication to the mission of AA. He loved taking care of his classic Jaguar, bragging about his children, watching old westerns, randomly bursting into song, and telling quirky jokes just to see others smile.
He is survived by his children Taylor Thrush and Jacob Thrush; grandson Lucius Thrush; brother Steve (Laurie); sisters Susan (Mario) Ledesma, Sally (Alan) Prokopenko; Tina (Allen) Fezatte, many nieces and nephews, and multitudes of close friends. He was preceded in death by his father Donald, mother Judith, and brother Donald “Hokie.”
Founding partner of Reality Counseling Services and ADEP (Alcohol, Drug, Education, Programs) Counseling he worked to help thousands of people achieve the sobriety that he lived every day. Prior to opening his own business, he worked many years at the House of Commons and Gateway Community Services, learning and helping those from all walks of life with his generous heart and unique perspective on life.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25 at the Alano Club, located at 220 Howard St, Lansing MI 48912.
