Gene Jerome Saunders

Gene loved God and family, both his natural and church family. Gene, a WWII vet, also worked 42 years at General Motors-Oldsmobile Division before retiring October 1989. Gene was an avid golfer, sharing his skills with many of his friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lloyd E. Saunders, daughter Eugenia Bradfield and granddaughter Amaree Anderson.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Mary Ann (Birdsong); son Kevin L. Saunders; daughters Angela D. Saunders and Rochelle I. Saunders; grandchildren: Estella, Emanuel, Joseph, Charles, Cameron, Gabrielle and Romarion.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 31 at Tiffany Funeral Home 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, MI 48917. Gene's home-going celebration service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, Sept 1, at Mount Hope Church-Main Sanctuary, 202 South Creyts Road, Lansing, MI with Pastor Kevin Berry and Bishop Dave Williams officiating. There will be an one hour visitation Friday 10-11 AM at church.
