George W. Lane II

George W. Lane II, 70, of East Lansing, passed away September 15, 2016. He was born August 1, 1946 in Lansing, Michigan to George I and Thelma (Lewis) Lane. He was a graduate of Sexton High School and a Lansing resident most of his life. George proudly served his country in the Army. While stationed in Germany, he drove a jeep for the General. George retired from Douglas steel after 30 plus years, and was a member of the Decadors Club. He was an avid swimmer, enjoyed playing a good round of golf with Judge Collette, and was an excellent pool player. George lived life to the fullest and his many friends considered him the life of the party. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Bob and Tom. Surviving to cherish his memory are daughter, Kristina (Mark) Twichell; son, George W. Lane III; grandchildren, Cody Whitney, Lydia Every, Nicholas Lane, Andrew Lane; and great grandchild, Baby Levi.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, Michigan. Interment will be at Deepdale Cemetery, Lansing. Those desiring may make contributions in honor of George to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, PO Box 30480, Lansing, MI 48909.
