

Howard was a lifelong resident of the Lansing area. He was a graduate of Grand Ledge H.S. and received a bachelor’s degree at M.S.U. Howard served in the U.S. Navy and a current member of the V.F.W. He worked for I.B.M., G.M., and retired from Auto Owners.
In June of 1964, Howard married his beloved wife of 53 years Joan G. Sayre who survives him. Howard and his wife Joan spent many happy times at their cottage on Bass Lake, in Pentwater, MI., and several winters in Golf Shores, N.C. Howard and wife Joan were devoted Spartan Fan’s, loved Detroit Tiger Baseball and trips to the casinos. An avid outdoorsman, Howard enjoyed hunting & fishing with his two predeceased older brothers Edward D. (Shirley) Bouck & John L. “Bud” (Gertrude) Bouck, his predeceased brother-in-law Robert H. (Joann) Sayre, and surviving nieces and nephews.
Howard and wife Joan donated generously to many organization’s in need including a yearly turkey to the homeless shelter on Thanksgiving. Howard and his wife Joan also lovingly cared for their respective mothers, Mrs. D.M. Bouck and Mrs. H.R. Sayre, with admiral affection and devotion.
In addition to his wife Joan, Howard is survived by brother-in-law George J. “Bud” (Georgia) Rotter, many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces/nephews.
A graveside memorial for immediate family & friends has been tentatively planned for spring of 2018 at Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing, MI.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc., V.F.W. and St. Lawrence Mid-Michigan Hospice.
