Lansing
Was born March 15, 1931 in Lynch, KY and passed away April 8, 2018 at the age of 87. He attended school in War, WV and moved to Lansing where he attended Lansing Eastern High School. He began his career at Oldsmobile, was financial secretary for the Local 652; was an international representative for the U.A.W and was a U.A.W. Cap. Lobbyist. He retired as Asst. Regional Director of Region 1C.
James was very active in the Democratic Party and the U.A.W. retirees. He enjoyed golf and playing cards.
He is survived by his children; Kathryn (John) Aldrich, Lee Ann (Dan) Adams and J. Thomas (Donette) Ramey; five granddaughters and one great-grandson. He is also survived by a brother, Glen (Louise) Ramey. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Marilyn, brothers, Clyde (Jean), Claude (Betty), and sisters, Irene (Jake) Bishop, Vivian (Thurman) Brown and Polly (Bill) Baker.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 13, 2018, 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior, Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing with the Rev. Harold DeMott officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 12, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
