James W. Shrewsbury

Born April 16, 1925, in Bradenburg, KY to Henry and Louisa (Benham) Shrewsbury passed away May 31, 2011. Preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings. He is survived by his wife Mary Ruth with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 1, 2011. Jim enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren; daughters, Janice Dodge, Judy (Dan) Bacigal; son, Gary Shrewsbury; grandchildren, Yvonne (Stuart) Wills, Rochelle (Jeff) Hosler, Hannah Dodge, Sherry and Sydney Shrewsbury; great granddaughter, Charlotte Hosler. Mr. Shrewsbury served his country in the U.S Army in WWII in the 100th division in Europe. He retired in 1981 after 32 years with GM. He always looked forward to attending the annual Shrewsbury Family Reunion in Brandenburg, KY. Jim will always be remembered for his cheerful personality and positive outlook on life. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 3, 2011 at Faith Bible Church, 5211 W. St. Joseph, Lansing, where he was a faithful member. Visitation from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing.
