

Jane C. Culver, 86, died peacefully Tuesday night at Haslett foster care home, Home Sweet Home Too. A memorial celebration will be held in spring at her childhood home near Elbridge, NY. Born July 13, 1924 to George and Susan (Hall) Chamberlin, Jane graduated from Elbridge High School and later received a Registered Nursing degree from Rochester General Hospital. She married Robert M. Culver on September 6, 1947 and relocated to East Lansing where her husband attended Michigan State University. Jane worked as a nurse at Ingham Medical Center, retiring after 30 years. She later volunteered her service until 2004 Before she was afflicted with disabling dementia, Jane enjoyed volunteer work, bowling, golf and cooking. She seldom traveled anywhere without a supply of homemade treats to share. Jane is survived by daughter Susan Overmyer of Grand Blanc, MI, son William W. Culver (Kristin) of Okemos, grandchildren Rachael Orlik (Blaine) of Berkley, MI, Steven Overmyer and Emily Overmyer of Grand Blanc, Travis Culver of Okemos, George Culver of Denton, TX, great-granddaughter Lydia Jane Orlik and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Robert M. Culver (1997), son James R. Culver (1973), son-in-law Mark L. Overmyer (1992) and her brothers, Jack Chamberlin (1942), George Chamberlin (2001) and Richard Chamberlin (1995). In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations in her memory are made to the Capital Area Humane Society or the Alzheimer?s Association. Arrangements by Tiffany Funeral Home.
