Died June 1, 2012 at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. She was born May 31, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Edwin and Alice Korpi. She attended high school in Kansas City and was graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in the School of Natural Resources from the University of Michigan. While in high school, she was an accomplished classical pianist who played at a concert with the Kansas City Philharmonic as the featured youth performer.
She was a resident of Lansing, Michigan for over thirty years.
Her interests included rescue dogs and stray cats, fly fishing and horseback riding, small cars with stick shifts and Astro vans. To her many devoted friends, she is remembered for a generous spirit, for long, late-into-the-night telephone conversations and for dinner parties that never seemed to start on time. To her relatives, she is remembered for making any family gathering a whole lot more
fun.
Her husband, David Scott Terrell, preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, Stephen Korpi, her sister-in-law, Debra Korpi, her nieces, Emily and Beth Korpi and her nephew, Gil Korpi, all of Kansas City.
The family would especially like to thank, among others, Jean’s close friends Gwen, Kim and Judy for all of their amazing care, devotion and support. No services will be held.
