September 30, 1955-March 18, 2017
Age 61, our loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away March 18, 2017 in Lansing, Michigan.
Born September 30, 1955 in Niles, Michigan, to Jack & Jane Knoll, Jeff graduated from Niles High School and MSU College of Business, and retired from the State of Michigan after 27 years of service.
Surviving are his loving wife, Marshalea Mathews; his two puppies, Jackson & Lillie; Daughter & Son-in-law, Jamie Mathews (Brian Graham); Granddaughter, Michaella Graham; and Great-Granddaughter, Tenley Grace Graham, all of Grand Ledge; Brother-in-law, David (Sharon) Mathews of DeWitt; Sister, Jackie (John) Low of Arizona; Niece, Vanessa (Don) Low McKay of California; Nephew, David (Danielle) Low of California; and numerous extended family and friends. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Bernadette George.
Jeff was an avid Spartan fan and had a passion for sports which was displayed during his high school career in which he was a four-year letterman in three sports. His love for playing sports was cut short in 1975 after suffering a paralyzing spinal cord injury. Most would have given up, but Jeff made the most of his life and was the most courageous and strong man you will ever meet. His family and friends will miss him terribly, but find comfort in knowing Jeff is pain free and is walking and playing sports again.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his dedicated and caring caregiver, Dawn Hill. Without Dawn, Jeff and our family would have been lost over the years.
There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. Arrangements by Tiffany Funeral Home, Lansing, Michigan. Friends may visit the guest book at www.tiffanyfuneralhome.com
