Jerry A. Sorrow

Lansing, Michigan

Age 70, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away August 10, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. Born June 13, 1948 in Lansing, MI the son of Lawrence E. and Patricia R. Sorrow. Jerry was a 1967 graduate of Eastern High School, and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1969-1970. He retired after 29 years of service in the drywall hanging business. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, trips along Lake Michigan, trips to see waterfalls, woodworking, and family bonfires.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 40 years, who he married October 7, 1978, Constance “Connie” Sorrow; 4 daughters, Samantha Rogers, Dawn Renee Gillison, Susan Nicole Sorrow, and Rachel Linette Schafer, daughter-in-law Kay LaLone, son-in-law William Remensnyder; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Karen (William Banks) Sorrow, and Deborah (Rob) Sykes; brothers, Larry (Barbara) Sorrow; and niece, nephews, and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Loren LaLone; daughter, Katherine Sue Remensnyder; parents, and 2 brothers, Thomas, and Michael.

A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, August 17, 2018 at South Church of the Nazarene, 401 W. Holmes Road, Lansing, Michigan 48910. Military Honors will be provided by the Morley Oakes V.F.W. Post #701 of Lansing.
