Jessie Annette Perry, of Metamora, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 5, 2025. She was surrounded by friends and family members, who had been her constant companions during the years she spent on Lake Metamora with her daughter, Marilyn Hill.
She was born on February 12, 1924, in Big Rapids, Michigan, to Helen Annette Woodhall and Ralph Leroy Antcliff. The oldest of nine children, she was a leader, and an inspiration to all who knew her. Her kindness and compassion, her gentle confidence, and her love for Jesus were just a few of the qualities that made Jessie a remarkable woman.
Jessie’s education began at Edmore High School, where she graduated with Honors in 1942. She went on to attend Lansing Business College, where she received her associate degree. Jessie then began her career in Lansing at Paul Automotive, where she met the love of her life, Otto Perry.
Jessie and Otto were married on August 5, 1944. Together, they shared sixty-six (66) years of love, dedication, patience, and passion for Christ. A stone mason by trade, Otto led the family through twenty-three (23) moves before ultimately settling in Eagle, Michigan. Jessie looked back on the moves fondly in the last years of her life, remarking about the talent and ambition of her Otto.
She began a career in real estate in the property management department of Edward G. Hacker Company. She quickly became a licensed agent and then transitioned to Coldwell Banker Hubbell Briarwood, where she worked with unmatched ability and dedication for over fifty (50) years. Jessie retired in 2018, at the age of ninety-four (94).
Jessie and Otto were charter members of Colonial Village Baptist Church, where they served in many capacities, and where they were known for their Christ-like love and hospitality, a seat for everyone at the table.
She is survived by her sisters Gladys Beach, Inez DeJoung, Susan Brooks (William), Karen Nagle, brother Ralph Antcliff (Bonnie), children, Sharyn O’Mara, Marilyn Hill (David), Jonathan Perry (Diane), Carolyn Cassel, ten (10) grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Perry, Rachel (Reuben) Levinsohn, Kieve (Matthew) Johnson, Sarah Perry Nichols, Amber Cooper, Miranda (Jason) Barth, Heather (Kyle) Bennette, Elizabeth (Keith) Ivkovich, Renee (Branndon) Crall-McCune, Christiana Perry, twenty-four (24) great grandchildren, Austin, Victoria, Kohli (Hannah), Mattie, Wyatt, David, Jonathan, Jessie, Maya, Maddie, Ellie, Juliet, Stephen, Grayson, Mason, Joslynn, Joseph, Savannah, Lincoln, Ruby, Kimberly, Max, Jet, and Otto.
