I remember John on a particular occasion when I organized the annual Easter egg hunt at First United. He was smiling and said he would help with anything I needed. I appreciated him so much at the church. He will be missed there...

I first met John in a story Ena told about him chasing her around the dining room table after she played an April Fool's joke on him. I think Ena may have exaggerated just a bit, as some storyteller do, because when I actually met John he was the nicest, most helpful person imaginable. He will be sorely missed, but will live on in the memories of all who were touched by his generous spirit

Dear Ena and family, John helped so many and he was always so willing to come to the aid of others in need. I was always so proud to have such a caring and loving brother. The effects of his many acts of kindness and helpfulness during his lifetime will linger on forever. It appears that helping others is what truly made him the happiest.

And now to you; the children of John: John's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a great inspiration to him. John (your father and grandfather) spoke proudly of each one of you so obviously he loved each of you very deeply.
