John Paul Dedyne was born March 22, 1944 in Lansing, Michigan to Joseph and Mary Dedyne. He passed at home on October 22, 2023. John enjoyed buying and selling antiques and could often be found adventuring to different yard sales and auctions looking for new treasures. He was also a fanatic of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a passion for going to the casino and could spend hours letting the glow of the slot machines light up his eyes. He was an avid supporter of the Detroit Tigers and Lions and would give a stare and a complaint to anyone who interrupted him while the game was on. While he could sometimes be a bit ornery and gruff, he was a big softy and had a true heart for his family and did all he could to take care of them to the best of his ability and work hard to support them. In 1991, he retired from GM working on the Piston Rod Assembly Line for 28 years.
In addition to his beloved parrot Peaches, he will be missed by his “better half” Sheila Jenks; his children, John Dedyne, Janell Irvine, and William Jenks; his grandchildren, Johnathon (Kimberly) Magruder, Paul Dedyne, James Dedyne, and Brooklyn Irvine; great grandchildren, Kaden Magruder, Kirra Dedyne and Kolten Magruder; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Bradley Jenks; his siblings, Ed and Arlene Dedyne; his uncles, Denny, Emil, and Louie and his parrot, Custer. There will be no public services at this time.
